Chapter 59

The man in the hallway finished taping up the other entry door and used the tape in his bag to tape over the door's windows. Finished with that, he returned to his observation point in the hallway outside of the mobile telecommunications office and noted where everyone's new position was now located. The girl hadn't moved from her position and he was glad. The less she did, the better he would be able to watch over her.

A tiny insect was burrowing around the tape and he pulled it away, smashing it in his finger and then flicking it away. He'd be dammed if the bug made a weak point in his taped masterpiece. Stupid bugs. Hed noticed a lot of them hanging around this hallway which was definitely odd as they were in the middle of the throes of winter.

Checking the time on his watch, he saw that it was 6:00. In 15 minutes, his boss would call, and he would have further instructions on what he was supposed to do. Until then, there was nothing to do but pace the hallway and take care of all the exits and entrances into it to the best of his ability with his limited resources.

He decided to stand three feet away from the doors window, so that there would be a less chance of being seen from those inside the room. Deciding that he needed to keep himself occupied, he watched the screen on the television shift from a boring looking science experiment to an urban street setting. Now were talking, he thought, lets get some action going on.
